On Friday, Nationals Day, the singer-songwriter surprised fans by suddenly dropping a re-recorded song – and not a single one in all thirty (!!) tracks from her forthcoming Red (Taylor Version) release. . No, Taylor will perform an updated version of “Wildest Dreams,” a song from 1989, her fifth studio album released in 2014.
“Hello! Saw you guys got Wildest Dreams trending on TikTok, you must have my version,” wrote Taylor Swift on Twitter, along with snuggling emojis. Her tweet shows the growing TikTok trend where users are lip-syncing along with the song’s bridge – “See Maine with understanding / confused with you all night” – while the victim of the app’s slow zoom feature.
