A taxi driver was killed in an accident in Agona Nyarkrom
A taxi driver believed to be 36 years old died immediately after a head-on collision involving a car and a truck with registration number GW 1342-17 on March 15, in Mensahkrom in Agona Nyarkrom about in the Central Region.
The truck driver was said to be heading towards Swedru, while the taxi driver was also approaching Asikuma when the incident occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, the taxi passengers as well as the truck driver who suffered various injuries were all treated at the Agona Swedru government hospital.
The taxi driver, Ismael Kwao died on the spot. The body has been placed in the morgue and the stuck car is pulled away.
One of the accident victims, Yaw Amoanteng, who suffered a broken arm, accused the rescuers of stealing his money.

They claimed that the people who came to the rescue after the incident got GH¢1,200 to keep their children in school.
Disgusted survivors condemned the act, demanding the rescuers return their money.

Narrating the accident, he said, “What happened was that I was sending my son to secondary school in Asikuma. But when we were on the way, we reached Nyarkrom area and our taxi taxi had an accident. The driver was not drunk, the man was a Muslim, but the problem was only after the accident. who came to rescue us bolted with GH¢ 1,200 that was meant for my son’s school and this is bad. As we sit here, now we have no money. The person who took the money must return it”.
