Addressing some students of the University of Ghana at the Elizabeth Sey Hall in Accra yesterday to mark the independence celebration, he said the CPP believes in the youth and has therefore handed over the mantle of power to them to bring about the necessary changes that will affect them. live positively.
He said Independence Day is a very important day in the lives of Ghanaians, noting that apart from last March, the day should be reorganized and reformed so that the youths understand its importance.
He reminded the students that if they want to achieve economic independence then “they must take the mantle today, otherwise tomorrow’s problems will swallow you up”.
“Whatever you want to do, this is the time, if you don’t wake up today, don’t blame the country’s leaders,” he said.
The spirit that can
The chairman encouraged the students to make the Ghanaian flag burn the spirit of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana and said that spirit included the ‘can-do spirit’ that could build anything for their country.
He said that he does not follow political parties just because he likes them, but supports those who work for his interests in governance.
“I believe that if the youth can examine themselves and ignite their passion today, the same spirit of God that is within them can help solve the problems facing the country, and this is the legacy of the CPP,” he said.

A broadcaster, who is also a member of the CPP, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, aka Captain Smart, tasked various universities in the country to create courses that will promote the development of the country and make students more employable after school.
He noted that the youths are not lazy but due to poor leadership, they are unable to apply themselves in employment.
He, however, urged the country to create an agricultural squad aimed at harnessing the youth to feed the nation.
“Youths should be employed and paid at least GH¢5,000 per month to do agriculture and this can make the country self-sufficient,” he said.
He also called on the media to speak to the youth so that they can discover the level of politics and governance of the country.
Maintain integrity
The immediate past vice-president of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana, Wisdom Ndukwe, has indicated that youths usually blame their parents for issues of values and integrity, but said it is mostly the youths who are most responsible for this.
Therefore, he urged them to uphold their values and integrity as young people because many of them can contribute to the development of the country.
National Spokesperson of the Economic League Fighters, Nii Ayi, said the youth have always been at the forefront and at the center of revolutionary activism, noting that it is time to shoulder the responsibility to save and rebuild the country.
