T-Mobile customers report outages across the U.S.

Customers of wireless provider T-Mobile US Inc. reported a widespread service outage in the US late Monday, according to the website tracking service outages.

Posts on Downdetector.com and Product-Reviews.net show T-Mobile service outages in many parts of the country. Many Twitter users also reported the outage.

Many user posts say their service has been switched to “SOS mode,” which means it doesn’t connect to the network immediately but can still make emergency calls.

T-Mobile President of Technology Neville Ray issued a statement about the outage on Twitter early Tuesday.

“We have seen significant improvement and are operating at normal levels,” Ray said. “Our team continues to monitor and thank everyone for their patience. We apologize for the impact this issue has had on our customers.

The company did not immediately provide details on the cause or extent of the outage.

Downdetector.com provides a graph tracking service complaints for the previous 24 hours that shows a peak of more than 69,000 outage reports in two hours.

Comments posted on the site came from users who said they were in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington.

Complaints of the same service on Product-Reviews.net come from several of the same states, including Alabama, Connecticut, Idaho, Minnesota, New York, Nevada, South Carolina and others.

Many of the posts reported by the service were eventually returned.
