According to some outlets, GMA3: What You Need to Know co-anchor has filed for divorce from Fiebig, a lawyer, after nearly 13 years of marriage.
Just a few weeks ago, this development barely grabbed the headlines.
But then The Daily Mail published a photo of Holmes and his co-host, Amy Robach, looking great in a Manhattan bar and out in New York.
In the midst of what appeared to be a romantic relationship between their co-stars, ABC pulled Holmes and Robach off the air.
ABC News president Kim Godwin told staff on December 5 that the co-host of the spinoff Good Morning America will take a temporary seat from the anchoring duties while, according to Variety, “the news division considers the effect of the recent disclosure of a romantic relationship. It may have on the program and the company .
Neither Robach nor Holmes spoke about the charges or the suspension.
Late last week, they were spotted together at the airport.
In the weeks since this speculation emerged, Holmes and Robach have raised eyebrows several times.
A day after the picture went viral, Robach’s husband, Andrew Shue, appeared to delete all of Robach’s pictures from his Instagram account … except for one.
With TMZ reporting that the couple had filed for divorce themselves, the couple closed the sale on their apartment just a week before photos of Robach and Holmes took over social media.
“They’ve always had a passion and traveling to work together has brought them closer together,” a source previously told Us Weekly of Robach and Holmes, adding that their relationship “bloomed from a close friendship.”
The insider noted that the duo “has been trying to keep their relationship under wraps until they are ready to announce it.”
Alas, The Daily Mail seems to have beaten the reporter to confirm this.
Pending internal review, they are not expected to return on the air of GMA.
Holmes and Fiebig welcomed daughter Sabine in January 2013.
Two years ago, Holmes gave a glimpse into her marriage by celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary with a post about “grace and patience”, pointing out some of the vices of marriage.
“10 years ago, Marilee Feibig married me,” Holmes wrote in a 2020 Facebook post.
“And despite my best efforts, she stayed married to me for the past 10 years. That’s not hyperbole. I’m not being dramatic. I gave her many reasons, excuses, and opportunities to walk her good ass out doooooooooor.
