The former coanchors were seen holding hands and hugging on January 27 in a photo taken by Daily Mail. Robach, 49, even wrapped his leg around Holmes, 45 as he lifted her off the ground. Both of them beamed with big smiles and were reportedly spotted smooching too.
Her former employer confirmed that she would be leaving the network that day after being absent since late November 2022. Robach and Holmes’ relationship was announced on November 30 after they were seen getting cozy outside the ABC studio. He returned to the news desk on December 1, a day after the scandal broke. Though he didn’t reveal the photos, Holmes joked, “Who’s looking forward to the weekend?” Robach raised his hand. “Of course we are.”
After more than a month of hiatus, Us Weekly special that ABC has no plans for the two to return. “Amy and TJ are out, the decision has been made,” a source said us earlier this month. “The network is in talks with him about an exit deal and an announcement.”
The alphabet network made Robach and Holmes’ departures official Friday. “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it was best for everyone to move from ABC News,” the company said in a statement released on January 27. “We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and thank them for their contribution.
By the time their relationship first hit the headlines, the duo was married to someone else. However, the Arkansas native began to file for divorce from Marilee Fiebig after more than ten years of marriage.
The former NBC news correspondent, for her part, remains tight-lipped about the status of her marriage to the actor. Andrew Shue. The estranged couple tied the knot in 2010 and are stepparents to each other’s children; Robach shares his daughters Ava and Analise with his ex-husband Tim McIntosh while Shue, 55, shares sons Nate, Aidan and Wyatt with her ex-husband Jennifer Hageney.
Another insider recently told us us that Robach and Shue “try to remain coparents and amicable” amid the split. “He is still living his stepson and [is] trying to make good with the kids and her ex,” the source added.
However, Robach and Holmes have no plans to hide their relationship. They packed on the PDA during a trip to Florida after Christmas before their latest photo shoot in Los Angeles.
“It’s not a fling and they are very much in love,” a source exclusively told us earlier this month. “And they’re going to open up about their relationship now.”
