Nearly a month after being arrested for domestic violence, TikTok star Taylor Frankie Paul giving his fans an update on his life.
For those who don’t know, the 28-year-old social media personality was arrested last month after an argument with her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, in Utah. Taylor allegedly hit the 30-year-old as he tried to break up a heated argument at the time. He also allegedly put her “in a chokehold,” kicked her, and threw several objects at Dakota, including her cell phone, a “wooden playset,” and three metal barstools. One of the barstools hit her 5-year-old daughter Indy Paul, resulting in a “goose egg” bump on his head. So, it’s horrible.
Taylor was eventually charged with one count of felony aggravated assault, two counts of felony domestic violence in the presence of a child causing injury, one count of misdemeanor child abuse, and one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief. However, his lawyer entered a plea of not guilty after the charges.

While Dakota has been active on TikTok, even taking time to defend her boyfriend after his arrest, Taylor has remained silent on the platform — until this weekend. He and Dakota struck up a bond and shared several videos of them hanging out together for the first time since his arrest. And now that the influencer is returning to regularly scheduled TikTok content, it looks like he’s willing to talk on camera about the situation…well, like now.
While filming a “who’s with me” video for her 4 million followers, Taylor opened up about her mental health amid legal troubles, revealing that she’s been going to therapy and taking medication to help her anxiety and depression:
“I’m also on Zoloft to help with depression and anxiety. I’m on week four, so I don’t know if I’m seeing a major difference yet, but I’ll keep you guys updated. I’ve also started EMDR [eye movement desensitization and reprocessing] therapy and so far, have loved it. We’re just working on all the trauma and we’re gonna kinda start diving into how we can help you deal with it, one, starting with the divorce. I just learned how to change my mind for the better, so I don’t have bad anxiety.
What does that have to do with Dakota? Well, it looks like they’re in a good place despite what happened. In fact, Taylor revealed in the video that she recently met her beloved for the first time:
“I went and spent some time in Logan, Utah with Dakota’s family, her sister, her parents, and the Mortensen family was amazing. I loved them all. Some people said I was their favorite girl to bring home. I didn’t know that I was believe me but thank you. I love you all.”
“favorite girl you’ve brought home?” That’s a surprising detail, considering the alleged altercation she got into with him. Of course, he didn’t mention the domestic violence situation specifically. However, Taylor noted that she will not share her children on TikTok now – a decision that was most likely influenced by her case:
“On a more serious note, I’m going to keep my kids off TikTok for a while. I show them on Instagram to my family and close friends, but now they’re going to stop TikTok. But not forever.”
He then ended the video by thanking his fans for their support over the past few weeks, saying:
“And honestly I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been so kind and sweet to me.”
