As you can see with the tweet above, Sunak will put Starmer on an issue that Sunak knows is wrong. We know Sunak knows it’s wrong because Boris Johnson tried this exact smear in early 2022 and Sunak publicly condemned his boss for this strategy.
I think Starmer expected this kind of strategy from the Tories, so he got a reply first to cancel the attack.

But it’s sad that as a government with all its powers, it prefers to carry out these smears rather than act to protect children.
I expect the next election to be full of nasty smears unlike the last, but like Matthew Holehouse, I will only have an impact on voters who won’t vote for Starmer. Sunak seems to be focusing on these voters rather than swing voters who can be persuaded to support the Tories for more valuable reasons.
These attacks coupled with the behavior of Robert Jenrick made the Tory party look like a bad party again, which somewhat damaged the Tories.
