Summer House’s Kyle Cooke Breaks Down Carl Radke’s Loverboy Exit

A deep dive into drama. Kyle Cooke exclusive give Us Weekly run-down from the long-standing tension between people and Summer House costar Carl Radke that led to Carl’s exit from Loverboy.

“It’s been a long time coming,” said Kyle, 40 – who founded the alcohol brand in 2018 with his wife and Summer House costar Amanda Batula — to us about Carl’s departure from the company while promoting the 7th season of Summer House. Noting that the Pennsylvania native quit in November 2022 “after months of not focusing on work,” Kyle shared that he paid his friend “a full-time salary for a year while he waited a lot.” (Carl, for his part, explained us (earlier this month, the reason she chose to leave her gluten-free hard tea brand was because it “didn’t feel right to me” after becoming sober in 2020.)

Kyle, who admits that the topic is a “sensitive subject,” points out that “some [his] frustrated” with Carl when he gave birth to “feeling underappreciated and underpaid.”

“I’m like, you know, don’t forget about everything I want. I’ve been… patient [as] a boss,” Kyle said, he was listening to that “part of [his] patience has allowed [Carl] trying to literally redefine the role” in the company, moving from the position of sales to the “face of the brand,” spending the third for Loverboy.

Kyle also set a straight record that did not fire his colleague – “he resigned in good graces,” Bravo personality noted – but that does not mean that Carl pushed luck a time or two.

“He gave her a lot of chances to fire her,” Kyle said, confirming that the Syracuse University alum left of her own free will, though she believes Carl’s fiance, Lindsay Hubbardasked him to leave.

“I always had Lindsay in my ear telling me he wasn’t appreciated,” Kyle said, stressing his view that Carl was respected by the staff. He was also “disappointed” how “Lindsay and Carl … [made] our business is everybody,” explaining that he “didn’t see that coming.”

And although the founder of Loverboy freely admits his own regrets about how the business relationship went down – “I said some things in the heat of the moment that I probably regret,” the Maryland native said. us – he knows that an alcohol-fueled environment is not the best place for someone trying to maintain sobriety.

Carl, for his part, told us last week that it was “hard to watch” the “Bravo series” when Kyle had a strong opinion about whether I should be checked or not [if] My relationship changed me because I didn’t think it should be.

He continued: “I mean, I’ve spent the last three and a half years giving everything to Kyle and the business. I’m very proud of everything I’ve done, and we’ve worked really hard – and that’s what Kyle wants.

When Carl noted that he “wanted[s] the best” for his friend, he also admitted that the two are trying to figure out the best way forward – which Kyle said us there was “a little surprising to hear,” given they had dinner and hashed it out.

Finally, without interference Loverboy, Kyle told us“I think now more than ever, we can focus on our friendship.”
