Some University of Ghana (UG) students, have been left on campus following the university’s new housing policy.
On Monday, January 16, 2023, some students from the affected Commonwealth hall were denied entry into the hall by school security officers.
The new directive to reassign students from Commonwealth and Mensah Sarbah halls to other halls comes after many clashes were recorded between the respective halls in the past.
According to the new housing policy, continuing students must occupy halls other than Commonwealth and Mensah Sarbah halls to make way for 100 level and graduate students.
In the case of the Mensah Sarbah hall, only male students will go out.
However, the students asked the court to enforce their rights to protect them.
