In new interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, porn star Stormy Daniels suggested that former President Donald Trump should be locked up – but it has nothing to do with him.
“Specifically for my case, I don’t think his crimes against me deserve prison time,” Daniels said in the interview, which aired Thursday.
“I feel like everything else he’s done, if he’s been blamed – really.”
Trump was indicted on March 30 by a Manhattan grand jury for paying $130,000 to Daniels, who he said he received before the 2016 election to keep quiet about his relationship with her. Trump, who has denied it happened, is now the first former US president to face criminal charges.
On Tuesday, Trump appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court, there pleaded not guilty to 34 felony chargesincluding counts related to Daniels’ hush money.
In her first on-air interview since the indictment, Daniels told Morgan that she felt “elated and vindicated” when she heard that Trump had been indicted, but that it actually felt “anticlimactic.” However, he said he had been “discarded” and “cannot be touched again.”
Judge Juan Merchan, who oversees the Trump case, set December 4 as at court date in the next person. Daniels told Morgan that he would “absolutely” testify if asked.
“It’s scary, but I hope,” she said. “I have nothing to hide.”
Trump now faces other criminal investigations, including an attempt to impeach him 2020 election results in Georgiarole in prompting an attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, and its handling from confidential documents.
“For me, it’s a more important crime, you know what I mean? I’m one person. And obviously that’s the most important thing to me because I’m me,” Daniels stated, saying the violence on January 6 “seems bigger.”
During a post arraignment speech On Tuesday, Trump referred to the investigation, insisting that the “only crime” he committed was trying to “defend our country from people who seek to destroy it.”
