Stassi Schroeder claimed he would return to television “at some point.”
Nearly three years after he was fired from Vanderpump Rules because of past racist behavior, Stassi, who is pregnant with her second child, explains why she stays away from Pump Rules is the “healthiest” choice for him when he reacts Tom Sandoval and Rachel Lewis‘ behavior after the affair and admitted it was “triggered” by both men.
“I tried to stay away from it for a really long time,” said Stassi in the March 30 episode Rubbing In podcast, via Us Weekly. “It’s the healthiest thing for me.”
“Even now, it’s hard – no lie – to see all this Vanderpump Rules stuff comes in and it’s everywhere,” he continued. “I DM about it all day, like, ‘I need you to weigh in, I need you to weigh in.’ At first, I was like, ‘Oh, this is interesting and crazy that this is happening.’ And then it’s like, ‘I’m having a triggered moment.'”
As Stassi explained, the drama surrounding Sandoval and Raquel resurfaced old feelings.
“I was like, ‘I’ve been living in this world for so long,'” she said, noting that it was “unfair” that she was “living” in the drama but “wasn’t getting paid.”
Looking back to when the “Scandoval” news first broke, Stassi said she’ll “never forget where” she was.
“We were actually in my house, and I had cleaned out my closet because I was turning the extra room into a nursery,” she recalls. “We actually photographed my clothes … and I was like, ‘Holy sh-t, holy sh-t, holy sh-t.’ … I will tell my grandchildren [about it].”
Also this week, Stassi vented her displeasure at Sandoval and Raquel over their betrayal on the podcast.
“I mean it’s kind of scary,” Stassi admitted on the April 12 episode of #NoFilter With Zack Peter podcast. “It’s a bit triggering. And I know we’re using the word trigger now, so it’s confusing, but I can’t think of a better word to describe it than trigger now because I just have it – when it happens. [Kristen Doute] and [Jax Taylor]it is NOTHING compared to what happened to Ariana.”
According to Stassi, although Sandoval and Raquel’s relationship has worsened, learning about their illicit romance has brought her back to the time when Jax cheated on her with her best friend.
“I knew what he was doing and it made me distrust other people. It drove me crazy,” he recalled. “It made me not a good boyfriend. Not a good partner. It made me [a] dark passenger because I don’t believe that, you know, after the party, if your significant other wants to hang out with friends, it’s a safe place. And, like, that’s not a healthy way to think.
Also on the podcast, Stassi shared that she is returning to reality television.
“I think I have to at some point,” he admitted. “It’s like, in my soul. I don’t know what it’s going to look like right now, but it’s like, I mean, I can’t see the rest of my life happening and like never going back on reality TV in any way.
That said, Stassi is happy that she’s inactive Pump Rules at that moment, he explained that he did not want to participate in “Scandoval”.
“To think, nothing happened anymore. We have all grown from it! It seems, because we are young and immature and don’t know any better… And know that not all of us and some of us can make better decisions it was painful and even more terrifying, so I questioned everything,” she shared. “I don’t want to go back to a place where I didn’t trust people. I want to stay on the path that people trust.
