What is Spatial Vision Technology?
Spatial Vision technology is like the blue-red 3D glasses that were around in the 1990s.
So, you might be wondering what makes it so special.
Well, in 2022, we can have the same experience…but with our eyes straight. It’s a dream come true for 3D content creators.

Three-dimensional content can now be viewed on certain ASUS laptops, without the use of 3D glasses or a VR (virtual reality) headset.
Sounds like magic, we know, but it’s science, and it’s called lenticular-based autostereoscopic 3D (or ‘naked-eye 3D’).
It gives the effect of a three-dimensional image by showing a different set of pixels to a person’s left and right eye. yes, together…
ASUS explains:
Working in coordination with the lens layer embedded in the OLED display, the eye-tracking camera on top of the laptop detects eye position.
The camera then optimizes the image projected to the viewer, and you will be able to see the final result in brilliant 3D, on your laptop screen.
Remember when we said it was a dream come true for 3D creators and designers?
This is because the creator will be able to see all the details of the project without having to inspect the physical prototype.
Fun fact: 3D design is an in-demand skill in South Africa.
Beyond 3D creation
While this is ideal for 3D content creators, gamers will be able to immerse themselves in the world of their favorite games like never before.
Add a pair of good stereo headphones to the mix and you’re good to go. You can even synchronize the RGB lights with the image projected on the laptop screen.

Two laptops exhibited at CES 2023 feature Spatial Vision Technology: ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED and Vivobook Pro 16 3D OLED.
ProArt Studiobook is for top-level creative professionals and comes with accurate color display.
The Vivobook is presented as a “bold-looking laptop that offers a youthful energy look for budding creatives who want to create 3D experiences”.
