Tom Sandoval wants to continue his relationship with Rachel Lewis despite the controversial romance drama has caused.
Weeks after he was caught cheating with his girlfriend of almost 10 years, Ariana Madixat Vanderpump Rules star reportedly tried to make it work with Raquel as the couple continues to process the backlash of their relationship.
“Tom was very emotional afterwards [Vanderpump Rules] Reunion,” a source told Page Six on March 28. “He wants to work with Raquel. But he knew that the odds were stacked against him as a couple.
“[They’re] friends, but don’t label them anything,” added another insider.
And a third source says that Sandoval and Raquel are letting each other work through the drama they’re dealing with while preparing for the next chapter.
“[They] they are both taking time to adjust to their current situation before making any decisions about the future,” an insider told PEOPLE on March 28. “They care about each other. Their relationship becomes emotional before physical.
“This is a new thing. They need to find out what they want,” he added.
The report then said when the Pump Rules The reunion was difficult for Sandoval and Raquel, who were allegedly “annihilated” by their castmates, they knew it would be.
“He made it very clear that he regrets the situation – and apologizes sincerely for the pain he’s caused – but in the end, he can’t change anything about how it was handled,” another source explained. “Now it’s all about moving forward.”
“It was obviously an intense day for everyone involved — especially Raquel and Tom, who were in the middle of a very loud and angry firing squad,” an insider previously shared with PEOPLE. “[Tom] and Raquel both apologized to Ariana during the taping, though she wasn’t in an emotional place to accept her forgiveness.
Unfortunately for the parties involved, no resolution was found on the record of the reunion. And when they do their best to move forward, Sandoval and Raquel “give each other” space.
“They both care, but they also understand the pain it’s causing and know they need to focus on what made the decision first,” the source said.
