Social token platform Rally announces shutdown of sidechain

Rally, a social token platform, has announced that nonfungible tokens (NFTs) on its sidechain are no longer accessible.

Users reported on the social media platform that Rally said the platform’s sidechain will “start to sunset” after January 31, leaving users unable to access NFTs if the site completely shuts down. The developers of the site did not say whether they will offer another path forward, but hinted at building a “web3 experience and / or a leaner product on the mainnet.”

“2022 is a challenging year not only for the platform, but also for the entire crypto industry,” Rally said. “The team has been working hard to try to find a way forward, but the challenges and headwinds are too much to overcome in the current environment.”
