Social media is reacting to TEMS’ massive outfit that continues to block people at the Oscars
Nigerian singer and songwriter, TEMS faced backlash for her elaborate outfit that caused a stir at the 95th Oscars in Hollywood.
TEMS was nominated for Best Original Song along with Rihanna for a writing credit for “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wearing a structured white dress by Ukrainian designer, Lever Couture.
The dress that received raving reviews from critics on the red carpet did not sit well with netizens who spotted the star blocking the view of some guests at the ceremony.
“Imagine waiting your whole life for the Oscars and you’ll be sitting behind a stratus cloud,” one user tweeted.
A user posted a video of the ceremony and captioned it “I’m crying that the woman is fighting for her life”

Another responded “You should be able to take it off for the show .. looks beautiful on the red carpet.”
“Omg that woman is ridiculous!! Don’t you think where you are going???,” another tweeted angrily
Tems’ dress for the Oscars 2023 was beautiful but inappropriate because of the elaborate headpiece; He should have changed seats with the person behind him. I hope they learn from this. They should also start promoting Nigerian fashion by wearing authentic clothes at big events (sometimes).

Others also jumped to her defense, calling the moment unplanned and unintentional.
“Tem Don’t wake up thinking ‘yeah, let me block the view’ The girl is most happy to enter her first Oscar, choose the perfect outfit and did not give it another thought. They don’t deserve to be scrutinized, at home and abroad,” the user said.
“To those who say “what about the people behind him?” ummm. We don’t care. Lol. TEMS ATE!!!!,” he said
Despite her controversial dress, TEMS failed to bag the award for Best Song losing to “Naatu Naatu” from the Telugu film “RRR” which made history as the first Indian film song to win an Oscar.
