Can SLAB be the top party again?
The above is from the Commons library’s excellent report and analysis on the 2019 General Election and shows some graphs relating to Scotland.
This reflects the major upheaval in Scottish politics in recent years which was sparked by Indtef in September 2014.
SNP has been totally dominant since but it is clear that the situation will not continue and I wonder if LAB can return to the top slot north of the border. In the end he got only one seat.
One of the causes of unrest in Scottish politics is the fact that there are four active national parties and it is rare for a general election winner in a constituency for a party to secure a majority of the vote.
What is abundantly clear is that the LAB’s hopes of returning to power at Westminster depend on a very strong performance in Scotland.
