Ben Kweller take for Instagram on Tuesday to reveal the tragic news of the death of her 16-year-old son. He posted a photo from Dorian Zev Kwellerwrite in the caption:
“There is no way I can type this but I …. Our son, Dorian Zev Kweller, passed away last night. He was only 16 and he was a true legend. The best, a gentle soul, a friend to all. If you knew him , you know. We will never defeat them as long as we are on this earth.

Ben then asked his fans to keep Dorian’s memory alive by supporting his music career. He followed in his father’s footsteps with his stage name Zev:

Only a few records have been released but he is on the road and excited about his journey. He has many plans !!! His first gig is in two weeks, at SXSW. My last sms with him was about merchandise he wanted. My baby boy is on the starting line with a lot of life ahead of him.” …
