E-commerce giant Shopify has launched something new blockchain packages products for traders. This development is expected to improve user experience in web3-based stores hosted on Shopify. In addition, merchants can use token gating and use new features in the expanded wallet ecosystem.
Blockchain Suite Offers Shopify Users Great Benefits
By Shopify blockchain team designer ryancreatescopy at Twitter, merchants can use new tools to build token gating applications on e-commerce platforms. Token gating is a common feature in the Web3 space and is a verification method for communities to provide exclusive access to certain events, content, and drops.
This is seen as a way of creating exclusivity for token holders and allowing NFT creators to grant access to specific token holders. In the case of Shopify, merchants can modify their store setup to specify exclusive products that certain token holders can access.
To enable this feature, they need to add a token gating application to their store and decide which products, collections, or events are available to specific token holders.
Token gating has been in beta mode since June 2022 and was previously only available to select users. With this latest development, Shopify store owners can access this tool to improve their customer experience.

Furthermore, Spotify has developed a crypto wallet connection feature by integrating the Ethereum (SIWE) protocol. Signing in with Ethereum is a standard way for ERC-20 token holders and ENS domain owners to secure their sign-in without providing personal identifiers to third-party data collectors.
This integration is in line with Shopify’s recent concerns about user data privacy. Earlier in 2022, the e-commerce giant faced a class-action suit after a hardware wallet provider leaked high-profile Ledger data.
Merchants can now access this unique sign-in feature to ensure shoppers have easy access to their wallets. In addition, they can use the statement generator, which allows customization of the statement message for a better user experience.
This integration is further explained by ENS Labs advocate Sadaf.eth in a tweet explains how to use these tools in your Shopify store. Additionally, the blockchain suite includes tools and services to help merchants manage blockchain assets, such as digital wallets and smart contracts. With its blockchain suite, Shopify aims to help merchants make the most of the opportunities that distributed ledger technology presents.
Shopify Continues to Support Blockchain Solutions
Shopify has a history of integrating blockchain solutions into its platform to improve payment processing, security, and scalability. In 2019, Shopify added bitcoin lightning payments for merchants that allow cheap and fast payments for customers.

It has also integrated blockchain technology into its point-of-sale and e-commerce systems to facilitate smooth transactions.
Finally, Shopify is exploring new blockchain technologies and developing solutions in partnership with Hedera Hashgraph and Consensys.
