The Board of Directors of Ghana’s high definition (HD) premium satellite broadcasting service provider SES HD PLUS is pleased to announce the appointment of Adelaide Ahovy Abbiw-Williams as Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2023.
Most recently, Adelaide was responsible for the launch of HD+ in Ghana where they successfully positioned HD+ as the preferred choice for a quality TV viewing experience in the free satellite TV broadcasting industry in Ghana.
Adelaide’s career includes a number of commercial roles in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), manufacturing, telecommunications, mobile financial services, and satellite broadcasting industries in Africa for multinational companies such as SES, Vodafone, Nestle and Diageo.
Adelaide succeeds Theodore Asampong who will now oversee the wider SES video business in the West and Central Africa region.
Wilfried Urner, Chairman of the Board of SES HD PLUS, commented on Adelaide’s appointment saying, “Adelaide made an impression on the board with her drive, intelligence and professionalism.
