A police sergeant was found dead in his ex’s home Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Lanre Bankole.
Mr. Bankole handed over the former Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, on February 10.
At Inspector General of Police Usman Babasent Mr. Bankole to head the Force Criminal Investigation Squad (FCID) X-Squad at the Annex in Lagos State.
When he left, the police guarded his house.
The slain police officer has been identified as Gbenga Onakomaya.
His body was found in Mr. Bankole’s house located in Kemta Housing Estate, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
A police source told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr Onakomaya was found lifeless and confirmed dead at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.
Police sources said the body has been kept in the mortuary while police authorities have ordered an autopsy.


“The family has been contacted and an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death,” the source said.
When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident.
