He said that Okunnu-Lamidi has never shied away from ideological politics as he is now joining the campaign train for the position and helping the party to win as he will bring skills, experience and structure to advance its cause.
Commenting, Okunnu-Lamidi said his appointment as deputy DG of the SDP presidential campaign was an effort in the right direction.
Okunnu-Lamidi promised to work diligently to implement the mandate of the party and the diligent mission of its candidates to protect the most vulnerable members of the community.
“I am very grateful for the high confidence of the great SDP National Working Committee in me with this critical appointment as Deputy DG of the winning presidential campaign.
“I am honored by the opportunity to serve our nation and the SDP in the mission to restore the honor of our nation and the seemingly elusive promise of our nation.
“I believe in Nigeria, in the drive and energy of our people, sterling character and unbreakable resilience, faith in ourselves and in the unlimited talents that the Almighty has endowed us with.
“I joined this campaign to help correct the existing situation that has been built to destroy the hope of our people,” he said.
He added: “I must honor the trust placed in me with the same diligence, high character and responsibility shown by our candidate and the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria: Prince Adewole Adebayo.
In the 2023 election, Okunnu-Lamidi called on members of the political class to live on duty.
He said the campaign was to meet the mandate of voters who were eager for practical reforms in the economy, security and governance.
