Scott Jennings, CNN’s Republican pundit whom many viewers love to hate, promised “the liberal tears will flow” as he announced his new radio show on the conservative Salem Radio Network Wednesday.
Jennings wrote that his national broadcast on weekdays will feature “guests, calls & a daily monologue.”
“Bring your cups – the liberal tears will flow!” he wrote on X.
The pro-Trump personality’s left-provoking remarks, which fuel much of the dramatic tension on CNN’s “NewsNight” debate panel, continued in Salem’s news release.
“We’re going on offense,” Jennings said, adding that he’ll “take the fight directly to the liberal machine.”
He continued, “It’s time to bust the narratives and bring back some plain old common sense.”
An executive for Salem, which specializes in Christian and conservative content, piled on to the theme.
“Scott Jennings is a disruptor,” Phil Boyce, senior vice president, said in the release. “He’s the Lone Ranger of the CNN panel, armed with facts and fearless in delivery. He doesn’t just survive in hostile territory — he dominates. Now, with a national platform on Salem, Scott becomes a daily fixture in the battle to save the country.”
The expansion of his brand will likely rile up critics who tune into CNN to watch him essentially play pro wrestling’s version of a heel during arguments.
The formula has worked. “NewsNight,” hosted by Abby Phillip, finished the second quarter as CNN’s top show for adults 25 to 54 years old ― a critical demographic, AdWeek reported this week.
Jennings, who worked in the White House of President George W. Bush and on four presidential campaigns, may get some listener spillover on his radio enterprise. His 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern time slot, beginning July 14, follows the show of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
