MANILA, Philippines–Schonny Winston agreed on a two-year contract to remain with Converge despite earlier reports of a disagreement between the two sides.
The FiberXers made the announcement on social media on Wednesday, showing a photo of Winston being flanked by team governor Archen Cayabyab and alternate governor CK Kanapi-Daniolco.

Converge also gave extensions to key player Bryan Santos and Jeo Ambohot.
Winston’s two-year contract that began after being selected late in the first round of the 2023 Draft was due to expire next month.
But the two parties couldn’t find common ground during negotiations, even when Winston joined Converge in the Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament in Davao City.
Winston did not play in the competition participated by three other PBA teams owing to an injury.

The La Salle product was coming off a strong sophomore campaign where he emerged as a vital part of the Converge rotation on the offensive end.
Meanwhile, Santos was given a fresh deal after playing an integral role for the FiberXers during the 2024-25 season that saw near semifinal appearances in the Governors’ Cup and Commissioner’s Cup.
Ambohot has been with Converge since being selected in the first round of the 2022 Draft.
