A number of NPP citizens from the Savannah Region who have gathered in Salaga for the funeral of Lepowura Alhaji MND Jawula gave a warm welcome to the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia when he arrived in Salaga by bus on Monday morning.
About 40 NPP MPs from various constituencies across the country accompanied the Vice President to Salaga, interestingly in a bus.
The former football manager and civil servant, who was also a member of the NPP, died in the United States and his Islamic funeral was held in Salaga on Monday.
Dr. Bawumia led a government delegation to the ceremony which included Ministers of State and members of the NPP House of Representatives.
The Vice President and 40 members of parliament made the two-hour journey from Tamale Airport to Salaga by bus and when the bus arrived at Salaga, many party executives and fans from the Region and other regions in the North gave the Vice President a rousing reception amid a chart of support .
Majority Leader, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and Majority Whip, Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh were part of the MPs accompanying the Vice President.
