As Hoda Kotb remains conspicuously absent from the NBC program, Savannah Guthrie left in the first hour of Tuesday February 28, shows.

There was no further explanation for Guthrie, but the 51-year-old broadcaster was on top of the show. Meanwhile, Kotb, 58, has not been featured since the pre-taped Presidents’ Day episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, which aired on February 20, with Jenna Bush Hager.
After more than a week away from the live Today show, Guthrie just told fans on Monday, February 27, that Kotb is “off today.”
Kotb — whose “Making Space With Hoda Kotb” podcast also hasn’t posted a new episode since Feb. 20 — began making waves for some cryptic Instagram posts.
“Choose hope,” the quote shared by Kotb on Monday read. She captioned the photo with two red heart emojis.
A day earlier, he said “Happy Sunday” to his followers, with a message that read: “Sometimes miracles are just good and kind people.”
While fans took to the comments section to tell them they miss him, other viewers sought clarification from the morning show via Twitter.
“No wonder what’s going on with the @TODAYshow Hoda hasn’t arrived, Savannah is missing and Willie is in,” one person said. tweeted on Tuesday.

The third fan write that Al Roker temporarily filled in for Guthrie before Geist arrived on Tuesday. “7:30 and Savannah has to ‘leave early’? Al sits until Willie can come in,” said the social media user. “Hoda has disappeared without explanation. Something happened on the Today Show. 🤔🤔”
Kotb joined NBC News in 1998 and began working there Today in 2007. After years of working Kathie Lee Giffordhe joined Guthrie for the first two hours of the show in 2017 Matt Lauertermination. Guthrie, for him, has been the coanchor of Today since 2012 after joining NBC in 2007.
