There was a lot of good news last week. Local boy Charan Moore won his division in the Dakar Rally, we’ve launched the first private satellite into space and despite the Democratic Alliance’s math, we’ve got better matrix results. It’s just some of it has heard about.
You don’t know about how the Hawks arrested some elephant ivory dealers, the SA Youth Choir appeared on Dutch TV and Dan Mace got a job working with Mr. Beast. The list goes on.
In other countries, half of that would be enough to make the country happy and positive but unfortunately, our front pages are reserved for other things: electric woes, horrific fatalities and Godongwana’s illusions that do not remember the same Cyril (Ramaphosa) promises. from the last open shedding last year with the Magic of the non-existent plan.
You know when people say: “This is why we can’t have nice things”?
No capacity to be happy
Therefore, we cannot have good things. No matter how good it is, we just can’t be happy because we know that together we will end up back in the same mess.
Imagine if Bafana Bafana made the World Cup, went to the final and won. It would be amazing, but after the SAA flight was delayed and he landed in the dark at 11am for the Cup parade through the dirty streets, the happiness was short-lived.

There are many people who do a lot to keep themselves motivated and keep their gear.
We have what it takes to introspect and think wow, we’ve done some great things here but we need the basics to make it fun.
For a country that prides itself on ideals like empowerment, dignity and equality, we don’t achieve much and what we do for ourselves tends to be bombarded by the challenges of failed municipal services, flat laptops or days off. SIM renewal work.
Let’s get the basics right
Think back to the amazing day you had before the sound of a flat tire changed everything. It’s enough to make you want to go home and cry.
There are many reasons to be positive about SA and very few reasons to be negative.
Unfortunately, this is less of a game of numbers and impact.
Some of the reasons for being negative are big reasons and we need to sort them out before we can really enjoy the good things that are happening around us.
What you can’t do is keep pretending like it’s okay just because something good happened.
It’s really depressing, now, Bafana is making the World Cup seem more real than Godongwana’s predictions.
