Sam Asghari wants to clarify the rumors about his wife.
To some extent, at least.
As we all know by now, TMZ reported this week that Asghari, along with several others, planned an intervention for Britney Spears on Tuesday.
They allegedly rented a house in Los Angeles for the meeting … and hoped to convince Spears to stay there for a few months while she underwent treatment for substance abuse and mental health issues.
“I’m afraid she’s going to die,” a person close to Spears even told this website, who called “misbehavior the main cause of Britney’s death.
Along with the drugs that were supposed to cause him to an unhealthy level.
“It’s 2008 all over again,” another insider told TMZ.
“There was a fear that he was going to die or kill someone. He blamed it on caffeine, Adderall, and whatever else he could do.
How much, if any, is this report accurate?
“An intervention didn’t happen,” Asghari told Access Hollywood.
“My wife has taken control of her life and will continue to make all decisions about her care regardless of the circumstances. Speculation about her health is inappropriate and must stop immediately.
It is very hard not to notice, of course, that Asghari does not deny here that this invention is planned… or that Britney has struggled with the problem.
For her part, Spears released a clearer statement in response to the speculation.
It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for someone to make up a story that I almost died… I mean at some point it’s enough!!!
Maybe I should stop posting on Instagram because even though I love doing it, obviously a lot of people don’t wish me well!!!

He concluded, making reference to the financial and personal control his father exercised over him for more than a decade:
