Salvadoran Bitcoin Education Program Is Launching A New Curriculum In English

The new diploma program Mi Primer Bitcoin is set to expand the opportunity to learn about Bitcoin in secondary schools that adopt it.

Mi Primer Bitcoin, a Bitcoin education program based in El Salvador, has announced a new and improved diploma program in English.

According to Dalia Platt, head of curriculum for Mi Primer Bitcoin, “the goal is to change the way people learn about Bitcoin. The goal is to make the course interactive, fun, creative, accessible and easy to understand for all, using examples that can reach and influence every corner of the world this.

A student workbook shared with Bitcoin Magazine covers topics from “What is Money?” for “Navigating Scarcity in a Growing Economy,” and more.

According to Platt, the organization has experienced exponential growth. “We have taught more than 10,000 students this year, which is 25 times more than last year,” he said. “As the first Bitcoin nation, El Salvador has a unique opportunity to lead the way in Bitcoin education.”

The program, first covered by Bitcoin Magazine in June 2022, launched with more than 35 high school students receiving Bitcoin diplomas. Since then, the educational mission of Mi Primer Bitcoin has not changed. Platt explains how he “Believes that our new Diploma Program has played an important role in achieving this [leading Bitcoin education] and we continue to improve our courses by incorporating the feedback we receive from current and past students as well as from teachers.

Bitcoin education is an important part of its worldwide adoption. Without proper knowledge in relation to how the world’s monetary system works, and the new protocol offered by Bitcoin, it is impossible to make the right decision to use Bitcoin. It was only after learning about money, and the money it could make, that Bitcoin’s potential was revealed. Programs like Mi Primer Bitcoin offer this education and learning to unlock that potential.
