Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, wants to earn a place in the squad that travels to France for the World Cup.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks, captaining the Junior Springboks to a U20 Six Nations Summer Series victory, before making his Stormers debut in the 2021-22 United Rugby Championship playoffs.
Later in 2022, he was called up to the Springbok squad that toured Europe in November and got a taste of action for the South Africa ‘A’ team.
‘I really want it’
In an interview with BokSquad, the talented young playmaker admitted that his experience until 2022 only makes him want more, as he is excited to play in the upcoming World Cup in France.
“I really want to,” she admitted. “I mean who wouldn’t want a chance to play in the World Cup?
“But I know I have to focus on doing my job at the Stormers. Everything will take care of itself after that.”
Able to switch to the backline, Feinberg-Mngomezulu made his URC debut from the bench at centre, where he is usually used for the Stormers, but said he sees himself as a flyhalf.
Flyhalf
“I don’t mind the slot at 10, 12 or 15 – but at heart I’m a flyhalf. My strong point is the characteristics of the flyhalf. My kicking game is one of my strengths, so it’s in the flyhalf where you can play more.
“Flyhalf is my favorite position, but game time is the most important. Wherever the team needs me, I’m there.
Still only 21, he admits he still needs to learn to realize his potential as a number 10.
“When you’re at school, you can control the game from that flyhalf position. The coaches want you to fill that role at senior level, but the big difference is you can’t be the star of the show.
“It’s more about working together, organizing attacks and putting other people into space. You have to keep the team going all the time. You can’t do missions alone.
