Ryan Seacrest had a seemingly shady response to Andy Cohen‘s New Year’s Eve diss, as the hint is alcohol-driven and approves a new indication CNN there will be less alcohol this year.
Last season, before the ball dropped, Andy stated (with co-host Anderson Cooper) that the ABC broadcast Ryan has ‘lost’ performing, and slammed Major Bill de Blasio for ‘the crappiest term.’ The next day, the Watch What Happens Live the host claimed via Twitter that he was ‘overserved.’
Addressing CNN’s reported decision to backtrack on his NYE drinking spree, Ryan gave his approval and appeared to hug Andy.
“I don’t recommend drinking while in the air. I don’t know how it started as a tradition, but it’s probably a good idea [to scale back], CNN. There’s a respectable one or at least one, right?” said Ryan, in an interview with EW. “I think there’s a serious journalist and a friend of mine who likes it a lot, but it might be a good idea – even if the audience wants to drink more.”
During last year’s coverage, Andy slammed the rival broadcast, stating via Yahoo, “If you look behind me, you’ll see a group of losers Ryan Seacrest is performing. I’m sorry, but if you watch ABC, you’re not watching anything.
“I think if there’s something to be said about my show, I’m sure it’s from alcohol because, I don’t think I’d say what he said about the cast if he hadn’t been drinking,” added Ryan. . “But, you know, I think our show is a bigger, broader show and we don’t drink until 1:05 in the morning.”
He then joked, “Although, I might send you some Tequila Casa Dragones just to tease him while he’s in the air.”
Ryan points out that some artists have gotten drunk on air, but it doesn’t affect their ability to perform.
“I think Post Malone always have fun before he goes out, “said the host. “But it’s amazing, the artist can still count, can perform his songs while drinking. Luke Bryanwho I work with American Idolhe can drink a couple and still nails.
However, the 48-year-old is not feeling alone.
“For me, it’s a little more intense,” he said. “I’d rather not do it live, so I’m counting down properly, I don’t want to screw it up.”
