Riveiro happy to finally see Pirates scoring goals

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro believes that the club’s last two games won will help them grow as a team, especially since they scored seven goals in the game, which is a big problem for the Bucs team.

The Sea Robbers beat the Golden Arrows 3-1, before claiming a 4-1 victory over Stellenbosch FC in the recent DStv Premiership clash at the Orlando Stadium.

With the goals coming and the club up the log, Riveiro was happy to finally see his charges finish their chances.

“It’s normal, it’s a goal-scoring game. We’re looking for goals and that’s what people like the most. It’s nice to finally break that wall in the second half- to increase the confidence level. Two different games we played at home, two games in a row and two scenarios and a different approach from the opponent. But I think it will help us grow a lot as a collective,” said Riveiro.

The Bucs coach said he’s happy to get more time between games this month, but he knows the games will come fast and fast next month.

With that in mind, Riveiro said it was important for him to prepare fully and wanted to see consistency from the club.

“I really believe in what we do every day, the training process. Now we are happy that we have a long week ahead of us to train, prepare and compete. It will change again in February and we have to prepare and be consistent during the week.

After playing at home in the last two games, Pirates travel to the north of the country for their next game, where they will visit a struggling Marumo Gallants team who are currently sitting at the bottom of the league standings for a meeting in Peter. Mokaba Stadium, Saturday.
