Since the tragic death of Lisa Marie Presley, his family along with the rest of the world has mourned. But like any family, tragedy doesn’t come without drama.
As you may have heard, Priscilla Presley contradicted his daughter’s last will – especially since he discovered in 2016, the late singer made an amendment that would have transferred his property rights to Riley Keough, his daughter, apparently without knowledge 77 years. The amendment removed Priscilla and the player’s former business manager as co-trustees of the estate and replaced them with the late son Riley and Lisa Marie. Benjamin Keoughand apparently the late actress’ mother was not too pleased.

As it is today, the Daisy Jones & The Six star is set to inherit his mother’s estate, which has been put in trust and will include approximately $31 million left behind from Lisa Marie’s life insurance policy. But how does the grandmother feel about trying to fight against her will? Well, apparently the same way Priscilla felt about the amendment in the first place – not happy.
According to insiders for Entertainment TonightRiley is “disappointed” in her ex-husband Elvis Presley and believed that her competing would be against “her mother’s wishes.” The source said:
“Riley wants to keep the family together and keep Lisa Marie’s legacy going in a positive way, but she feels that her grandmother’s actions have pushed the family further apart. She’s upset because she wanted to have a relationship with Priscilla, but now they’re not close.
Push the family even further — yeh. It is just the opposite of what Priscilla claimed in the statement for Page Six on Thursday. He said he tried everything to keep his family…
The insider didn’t stop there. Apparently Lisa Marie and her mother don’t even get along and are “complicated”:
“[Lisa Marie] not having a healthy or close relationship [with Priscilla] … Lisa Marie struggles, and it certainly puts a strain on her relationship with her mother. Lisa Marie always felt that Priscilla was trying to control her.
Oof.
So on Lights Off The songstress felt like her mother was always trying to control her – and now her mother seemed to be doing it only against her will. It seems possible that the strained relationship is where the 2016 amendment comes from…
The source added that Lisa Marie “always allows her children to gain confidence”:
“Lisa always wanted Riley and Benjamin to be the beneficiaries of the trust and that’s no secret. [Her] the children are important to him, and he will do anything for them.”
A complex and multifaceted case to consider from all perspectives. It is not easy to lose someone and with the increasing struggle of conflict between family members does not make it easier. Our hearts go out to the family.
