Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jane Shah announced Thursday, January 20, that he will not participate in a one-on-one interview with Andy Cohen after pleading guilty to his role in a national telemarketing scheme aimed at defrauding the elderly and sentenced to 6.5 years in federal prison.
On Instagram, Jen shared a lengthy statement with her followers and explained her reasons for not doing the interview, citing Bravo’s reluctance to “delete a contract provision” that would allow the network to “legally misrepresent” her story.
“This particular 1 on 1 interview is not a part of me ROSLC reality tv contract,” Jen said in the statement. “I promise myself and my beloved family that I will not allow any part of my life to be sensationalized or inaccurate.”
The cheeky reality star went on to add that “a lot of people are hurt” by my actions and that I can’t control my own narrative.
“I’d rather keep quiet and wait until I can accurately share my story than continue to have lies and misrepresentations about me spread in the headlines,” Jen said.
Andy hopes that he will be able to sit down with Jen, revealed earlier this month SiriusXM Radio Andy shared, “I’m hopeful that I can do the sit-up [interview] with him in front of some cameras and send that to you. I really hope to do that.”
At Watch What Happens Live The host announced tentative interview plans after Jen was unceremoniously blocked from appearing ROSLC season three reunion only invited back later. Jen ultimately turned down the offer at Bravo’s request.
Although an interview with Andy and Bravo may not be off the table, Jen hinted that there is a possibility that other news outlets will get their version of the show because she is “at a point legally, emotionally, and mentally” where she can provide “unknown. details” about her case.
“I want and need to share these critical facts. I owe it to those who love and support me to hear the truth, Jen emphasized.
“I want to talk, and you will hear from me. I will share my story and this painful part of my life,” he concluded the post.
