Shannon Beador struggling to cope with his separation November 2022 from John Jansen.
While appearing on a longtime friend’s radio show Jeff Lewis Friday, just one day after the former couple confirmed that they are not together, the The Real Housewives of Orange County star admits he had a hard day when the news broke and explained why he was “blindsided” by the split.
“I don’t want to cry, but yesterday was a very difficult day for me and I couldn’t stop crying,” Shannon said. Jeff Lewis Lives on January 12.
“I know how hard it is,” Jeff replied.
According to Jeff, he and Shannon have a lot in common, including birthdays, and they often turn to each other for relationship advice. As she explained, she and Shannon were looking for “the same things” in a couple, so she suspected that she and John wouldn’t go far – and expressed it as such. Watch What Happens Live.
“I know you’re suffering. I know you’re not very happy, so I’m asking if there’s a future or not,” Jeff said.
And when Shannon understood where Jeff was coming from when he made his comments, she didn’t like him – and neither did John.
“He’s angry, and of course, I’ll support him for my relationship because I’ve never loved anyone as close as I love John, so I want all the time for everything to work out,” she noted. “I just have the highest hopes.”
Although Jeff hesitated, he never told Shannon to break up with John, whom she started dating in 2019. After all, he felt that if he expressed his concern, it could end up ruining the friendship.
“They can reconnect six months from now. I don’t want to be the friend that gets pushed out,” he said when Shannon shot down the idea of a reunion.
“It’s over, Jeff. So I will say that the last time I talked to John was early December, so I never really talked to him. It’s a big deal,” he confirmed.
Jeff then praised John for the way he treated it RHOC cast members, noted that he was “very nice” to her, loved her, and acted “caring and doting and protective.”
As for the time when John chose to end the relationship (just one week after Shannon wrapped up the production of season 17), Shannon remembers the summary of the dinner at the end of the filming.
“It was great. John and I were filming together. I cried at the words he said and I thought, ‘We’re coming,'” she admitted.
“Right now he’s not specific, but from what I remember, he said he wants to take the relationship to the next level, which for me, I think engagement,” Jeff replied, asking, “Are you thinking about the same time?”
“I just thought, whatever the next step is, we’re going to do it and I remember crying and I remember saying something really nice to him. That’s why I was blindsided,” Shannon explained.
Real Housewives of Orange County season 17 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime in the coming months.
