Garcelle Beauvais appeared on Sherri ShepherdTalk show Tuesday, where he shared his thoughts Add Chestout of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Amidst production on the series’ upcoming 13th season, Garcelle gave a somber response to Lisa’s departure before noting that she and Sutton Strake as a “fan favorite,” offering an update on where he stands Erika Jayneand dishing on her new Lifetime movie, Missing Black Girl.
“I’m good. I’m doing great,” Garcelle said on the Feb. 28 episode Sherri when asked about Lisa leaving the show.
“You know what? Listen. I will give him credit. He always comes to the show and makes his mark. But now it’s time for something new. It’s a new time,” continued Garcelle.
Then, when Sherri mentioned that Lisa said no means Garcelle had to “show up and work,” Garcelle quickly clapped back.
“B-tch, I’ve appeared!” he exclaimed. “I showed up. That’s why Sutton and I are considered favorites.”
According to Garcelle, he and she RHOBA castmates “will have fun” without Lisa – even she and Erika, most potential.
“We side-eyed each other at BravoCon,” Garcelle recalled, saying that season 13 was “a new season.”
“We’re going into this new season, like trying to open it, and we’ll see where it goes,” Garcelle said, adding that he and his teammates only had “one week” of production.
Also in SherriGarcelle discussed Missing Black Girlwhich sees her acting as the mother of a missing girl.
“This film came to me, one of the producers, Jason Eggenbergand Kale Futterman, pitched me the idea and halfway through, I said, ‘Let’s do it,’ and we took it to Lifetime and Lifetime got it right away and they said, ‘Let’s make this movie. How quickly can we do this?’” he revealed.
As Garcelle explains, the film has a very important message about equality.
“A lot of times black and brown women and men disappear and nobody cares. The media doesn’t pay attention, the police say we’re runways or perpetrators, they’re like, ‘Are you on drugs? Are you doing this?’ And it’s like, ‘Wait a minute. We’re the victims.’ So, it was very important for me to make this film and get it out,” he said. “I’m really proud of it. I hope people come out and see it.
“Think about it, you and I have a platform. You and I are known. So children will get attention but many people don’t understand,” she said.
Garcelle, who works with the Black and Missing Foundation, an organization that provides stores for families and helps with searches, told Sherri that as a mother of three, the production “hits home.”
“It’s just this: Anyone can get lost,” she explained.
Also during the interview, Garcelle expressed gratitude for her “second act” in Hollywood.
“When I started in this industry, they said, ‘Over 40 you’re done. You’re done. You’re never going to work again.’ But here we are, shining strong,” he said.
Missing Black Girl airs this Friday on Lifetime.
