After the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 59, posted on February 22 the picture, which features a model in black, printed bikini with a ton of jewelry and a long mustache, social media users slammed the picture as “disturbing” and asked Lisa if she was “promoting eating disorders.”
In Lisa’s caption, she shared footage from Amelia’s conversation with the creative director Andreas Kronthalerthe designer’s late husband Vivienne Westwoodwhich was originally posted by Vivienne.
“I didn’t think much when you came to the casting in Paris. You felt like one of the girls who are always in the show. You were very familiar with me, immediately,” said Andreas.
“You know this is my first show in Paris?” Amelia was amazed.
“I’m not,” he confirmed.
“You made my life. Not only my first show in Paris, but my biggest dream in the world,” he replied.
After sharing the post, Lisa was met with criticism.
“Disturbing to say the least. That’s the last thing I want my kids to see, really! Check your head,” one man pleaded.
“I’m a fan of Lisa, but having a young daughter, this picture is really disturbing! She’s very thin and it’s clear that she had a cosmetic procedure that at her age is very sad,” said another.
A third fan said they were “so confused” and wondered why Lisa would post a pic.
“Are you promoting an eating disorder? This is a ‘horrible campaign,’ DO BETTER,” she wrote.
“These pictures/messages show disturbing young girls!” agreed others.
As RHOBA fans will remember, Amelia confirmed her past struggle with anorexia in April 2018, later crediting her eating disorder to the time she spent in an all-girls school, which was “completely f-cked. [her] up.”
“Horrible image for our young girls. Rinna has even talked about the disorder but she will still post something like this,” said another.
Meanwhile, another described the image as “really sad and disturbing,” adding, “I believe this type of image is more about SHOCK VALUE!”
When Amelia announced her battle with anorexia, she shared a long statement on her Instagram page.
“I went through this journey not to pay attention, not to people who despise me, but to help. I am on this earth to help people, and I know that,” he wrote at the time. “One in 200 women in the US suffers from anorexia. And I want to help.”
