Pdt. Wengam led the Assemblies of God leaders to pay their respects to Bawumia
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana Rev. Stephen Wengam has praised the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his instrumental role in cementing religious harmony in Ghana.
Said Dr. Bawumia’s approach to churches in particular and the Christian community, in general, has a significant impact.
Pdt. Wengam said this while leading the Executive Presbyterian Officer (EP) of the church to invite the Vice President.

The visit was to introduce the new leadership of the Assemblies of God Ghana to the Vice President.
Pdt. Wengam told the Vice President that he and his team saw their visit to the church from the biblical perspective of living in harmony with all men and women.
He said the Vice President modeled the way of peace for other countries, especially those affected by religious tensions, to resolve the issue and build lasting bridges for religious tolerance.

The General Inspector said that as a church, the Assemblies of God has national progress at heart, and prayerfully follows developments on the economic front including negotiations with the IMF.
He is confident that the negotiations will be programmatic in time for Ghana to receive the much-needed bailout.

Pdt. Wengam appealed to the Vice President as Chairman of the Economic Management Team, to use his good office to ensure that individual bondholders and other vulnerable groups are not affected by harsh economic actions.
He assured Dr. Bawumia, that Ghana’s economic recovery tops the topic of church prayer.
That is why as part of the week-long prayer and fasting program, prayers were said for the country in all the Assemblies of God churches across the country.
He said in line with the biblical directive to pray for the government and those in authority, the church would continue to pray until Ghana’s economic situation improves.

In response, the Vice President commended the Assemblies of God Ghana as the first Pentecostal Church to use social action activities to evangelize Ghana.
He especially thanked the church for investing in the establishment of 350 schools.
He called for a bi-partisan approach to solving the current economic challenges and thanked the church for praying for the nation.
