At Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to repeat the election in areas where there were electoral violations such as ballot box tampering.
The chairman of the PFN, Cross River State chapter, Lawrence Ekwok, who spoke to journalists in Calabar, said INEC should also repeat the election in areas where potential voters were prevented from voting.
He said there should also be elections in polling units where Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices were thrown or destroyed by thugs.
“Other areas where the election should be canceled and repeated should include polling units or states where the ballot paper does not contain the logo of some political party.
“Doing this will help prevent protests from those who feel disenfranchised and will also reduce violent activities.
“If this is done, the eventual winner of the election will be confident of having the mandate of Nigerians, and also discourage thugs and impunity in future elections,” Mr. Ekwok said.
He charged INEC to do everything possible to convince Nigerians that the commission is truly committed to conducting free, fair and credible elections.

While calling for the speedy upload of results to avoid suspicion, he called on Cross River residents to come out en masse to vote in the March 11 governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Mr. Ekwok condemned open threats to voters in polling units in the state.
The presidential election results are still being collated in wards and local governments in Nigeria by the electoral commission, INEC.
Nigerians are voting to elect a new president and members of parliament.
However, voting will continue in some parts of the country today.
