“Maybe (Republican Representatives) George Santos and Marjorie Taylor Greene (cry) but not me,” the New York Democrat told guest host Jordan Klepper in a segment that aired on Monday’s broadcast of “The Daily Show.”
“Return ticket to LaGuardia, baby,” he added jokingly.
When Klepper asked Ocasio-Cortez how her fellow New Yorkers responded to the former president’s order, she replied: “I treat her like a Florida person. She doesn’t belong to us. She’s not from Queens anymore. She’s a resident of Mar-a-Lago at this time.
Ocasio-Cortez joined Klepper at the Bronx’s Jacobi Medical Center to talk about her Stand Up to Violence program that treats gun violence as a public health crisis.
“I can hear how Fox News is going to spin this, ‘AOC is trying to defund the police and fund gang members,'” joked Klepper.
“If I spent time worrying about what Fox News said, I wouldn’t be here,” Ocasio-Cortez replied.
