Rachel Lewis is in response to news from James Kennedy and Lala Kentrung‘s latest hookup.
After Lala and James confirmed to castmate Katie Maloney who cheated on their ex-partner Randall Emmett and Raquel early in their relationship Vanderpump Rules season 10 premiere, Raquel confirmed that she has been kept in the dark about the hookup.
“I was given information that was new to me… [Lala] said she was hooked on James and when James and I were together,” Raquel told E! News at Tuesday’s premiere party.
According to Raquel, she did “a little investigation” to make sure that Lala’s claim about meeting her ex-fiancé was true.
“For some reason, I was very naive in the past, and I thought that James had never lied to me, but this only clarified that he had lied to me many times, and it must have been a very difficult pill to swallow,” Raquel explained.
Also at the party, James, who admitted to having “fun” on the side during his relationship with Raquel, spoke to Hollywood Life, insisting that the rendezvous with Lala was not his proudest moment.
“[It] unbelievable [was] not the proudest moment,” he said. “[But] it was six years ago, so for me, you know, I haven’t thought about it for a long time. It’s the kind of dark bone that’s been put away forever, and brought back to life, but honestly, it’s not my place to be mad at Lala. [for revealing it]. But it was a moment of reflection for me to see how far I had come.
Although the information was not immediately brought to Raquel’s attention, James assured viewers that her reaction was intense, saying, “You have to watch what happens because it’s crazy. It’s crazy.”
“Raquel knew, obviously, when I told her and I didn’t get the reaction I wanted. I got it later in the season,” he said.
As for Lala, he said he is coming forward with the information in an effort to move forward in his relationship with a “clean slate.”
“I just want a skeleton out of my closet. I feel like I’ve been living in so much sh-t since my birth.” [split with Randall] … And I don’t want this monkey on the back whenever I’m around he knows this one detail,” he reasoned. “I don’t know if I made the right call, but I’m glad it’s here now.”
