Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting peace-building and development initiatives across Southern Kaduna and other parts of the state.
The governor, who was represented by his political counsellor, Hon. Ado Dogo Audu, made the pledge during a Ramadan iftar hosted by the Emir of Jama’a, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II, at the Emir’s Palace.
He commended the Emir for promoting peaceful coexistence through inclusive leadership that embraces people of all religious, ethnic and social backgrounds.

“The Kaduna State Government will continue to support programmes that strengthen unity, peace and development in our communities,” the Governor’s representative said, noting that such initiatives are critical to stability and progress.
The interfaith iftar brought together Muslim and Christian clerics, traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders and other stakeholders in a demonstration of unity and mutual respect.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Jama’a Local Government Council, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, called on adherents of both Islam and Christianity to use the Ramadan and Lent fasting periods for prayers, sacrifice and renewed devotion to God.
He described the rare coincidence of Ramadan and Lent as a powerful symbol of unity, compassion and shared spiritual values, urging citizens to intensify prayers for peace, security and development in the local government, Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
Similarly, Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, hosted Muslim and Christian clerics at his palace in Zaria for a special Iftar aimed at strengthening religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence in the emirate.
The event, held to mark the 10th day of Ramadan, brought together Islamic scholars and Christian clerics from different denominations to promote dialogue, mutual respect and unity among adherents of both faiths in Zazzau Emirate.
