Rainmakers FC bid emotional farewell to coach Kwaku Danso after Berekum Chelsea move
Division Two side Rainmakers FC have officially bid farewell to their head coach, Kwaku Danso, following his move to Ghana Premier League outfit Berekum Chelsea ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Danso’s switch to the top flight marks a significant step in his coaching career, as he joins the former Ghana Premier League champions in a bid to strengthen their technical direction for the upcoming campaign.
The experienced tactician spent one year with Rainmakers FC, where he played a key role in shaping the team’s development. He previously served in the Ghanaian top flight with Bechem United, bringing valuable experience to his new role at Berekum Chelsea.
Danso is expected to replace Samuel Badu, who recently left the Berekum-based side to take up the head coaching position at Aduana FC.
In an emotional farewell message, Rainmakers FC expressed gratitude for Danso’s contribution during his tenure, describing his impact as memorable and positive.
“A new chapter begins. Thank you, Coach Kwaku Danso, for your dedication, leadership, and service to Rainmakers FC. We wish you all the best as you embark on this new journey with Berekum Chelsea. Once a Rainmaker, always a Rainmaker,” the club wrote.
Berekum Chelsea, who finished seventh in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, will be hoping Danso’s arrival helps improve their fortunes in the upcoming campaign. The club is counting on his experience in Ghana’s top flight to guide them toward a stronger and more competitive season.
With his return to the Premier League, expectations will be high on Danso to make an immediate impact and help restore Berekum Chelsea to their former prominence in Ghanaian football.
