Mylene Paat and Chery Tiggo Crossovers. – PVL PHOTOS
MANILA, Philippines – Mylene Paat continued her scoring prowess to help Chery Tiggo go undefeated in three matches, beating F2 Logistics 25-19, 25-14, 25-16, in the All-Filipino Conference of the Premier Volleyball League 2023 here on Philsports Arena.
Paat poured in a game-high 22 points from 20 attacks, one block, and an ace to lead another balanced attack from the Crossovers, who banked on the brilliant playmaking of setter Alina Bicar.
Bicar released 20 sets and a brilliant block as Chery Tiggo dominated Logistics F2 as they attacked with a differential of 54-22 to win for the third time in a row, joining idle Creamline (3-0) at the top of the standings.
Shaya Adorador scored 13 points for the Crossovers. EJ Laure had 12 points and 15 digs. Cza Carandang added 10 markers, as libero Buding Duremdes protected the floor with 25 digs and 13 excellent receptions.
“We know that F2 is not an easy team. They also have a record of winning two games. It is a lot but we are grateful. All members of our team have a good collaboration,” coach Chery Tiggo Aaron Velez in Filipino.
“I’m so proud of the women, how hard they work. They play their hearts out and they sacrifice themselves for each other.
The Crossovers pulled away in the second set by a 20-8 margin after scoring 12 of the final 14 points capped by Paat’s kills to easily take a two-set advantage.
The Cargo Movers scored the first two points of the third but the Crossovers were able to regain momentum, 10-9, before pulling back with a spread attack and Laure’s ace to make it 21-13 and never looked back for their third win.
Myla Pablo scored nine points, all from attack but she had 44 attempts. Majoy Baron had his first game of the conference with six points, including four blocks, while Aby Marano also had six.
Kianna Dy, the team’s top scorer, was limited to one point and was benched in the third set as F2 Logistics went 2-1.
