MANILA, Philippines – Cha Cruz-Behag is happy to be back playing after a four-year hiatus, but he admits he still has a lot of work to do.

Behag checked in the third set and stayed the rest of the five-set game, finishing with just three points but his leadership on the court made a big impact in F2 Logistics 25-22, 25-21, 14- 25, 20-25, 16-14 victory over PLDT in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Philsports Arena.

“Personally, it’s a process. It didn’t happen overnight. I’ve been away for four years, but now I’m back,” Behag said in Filipino after his first game for F2 Logistics since the 2018 Philippine Superliga.

“But I still have to work twice a day and I really try my best to train to recover. I have a lot of mistakes,” he added.

Behag faced a tough test on his return, but knew he and Cargo Movers had to do better.

“Yes, as a team, we feel it’s a good challenge for us. We still have a lot of things to polish as a team. But we’re happy. A win is a win, but there are a lot of weaknesses that need to be corrected,” Behag said. “It’s just the beginning of the conference. We still have a lot to experience and will face more club teams.

“We’re going to continue to grind every day and work on things to improve.”

New F2 Logistics coach Regine Diego, who was Behag’s teammate at La Salle in UAAP Season 72 in 2009, decided to leave “Ms. Everything” on the floor for the rest of the game.

“From everyone in F2, Cha and Aby [Marano] they are my old friends. So I believe that they know what to do, because they are adults. He has leadership skills,” Diego said.

Diego’s decision to lean on Behag and Aby Marano paid off as they avoided the final collapse.

“My decision was the right one to keep him as important as possible [moments of the game]. I know he will lead the team properly. I am happy that I have many leaders in my team today,” said the young coach.

Behag and the Cargo Movers saw their second win against the Akari Chargers on Thursday at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan.
