The colorful Almadro has dealt with a lot of flak in the past month, and he vows that he is only here to make a living and impart his knowledge of the sport with the teams he deals with.
“This [Petro Gazz] team is a champion team. Yes, we lost a few pieces [in the off-season] but we’re trying to figure things out,” he said while preparing for the Angels’ next assignment, Cignal, on February 18. every team we play.
Trust the process
“You believe in each other and play as one, that’s the character that will level the playing field for us,” Almadro said when asked if he believes Petro Gazz’s crew has the tools to go forward and beat a team like Creamline. , which walloped the Angels in the inaugural last week.
“Winning a championship is a long process. But I always believe in the process,” he said. “With any team, in any league, it takes time to get maturity, jell, everything. It’s not just one-conference.
“I’m not saying we have to wait a long time. But it’s a matter of preparing well and having a good mindset,” he said. “We have to work hard, get consistency, prepare well and be committed to our work.”
Petro Gazz lost Myla Pablo but gained some pieces during the offseason.
Almadro is one such piece. And he had only one wish when he came aboard.
“I hope my addition to Petro Gazz is a good thing [his players] can also help me grow as a coach as much as I want to grow as a player,” he said. “We need togetherness – that’s part of the process.”
And as for the buzz about his transfer?
“It’s just sad when people put shades into everything,” he said.
