Is Princess Catherine AKA Kate Middleton trying to kill Meghan Markle‘s claims that he is not a hugger? Because he’s been hugging lately!
If you don’t know, the accusations started when the Duchess of Sussex recalled the first time she met the Princess of Wales and Prince William for the first time in her and Prince Harry‘s Netflix docuseries and was shocked by how cold the interaction was.
“When Will and Kate came and I first met them, they came to dinner. I remember I was in ripped jeans and barefoot. Like I was a hugger, always a hugger. I didn’t know that it was so terrible for many English people. I guess I will begin to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside, is carried over on the inside. There is a way to face forward and then close the door and relax now. But the formality is carried out on both sides. And this amazes me.

Princess Catherine must have known what Megan was talking about because she’s more relaxed about some of the royal rules she doesn’t know about – including taking selfies and even hugging fans. This week, 41 years visit Landau Forte College in Derby to celebrate Capt Preet Chandi for breaking the world record with a solo expedition in Antarctica. When posting about events on Twitter, one picture was included in particular: the original picture of her hugging Preet. Ch-ch-check (below):

And this is not the only example of hugging! During his visit to National Maritime Museum in Cornwall there, he bumped into one of the old history teachers from St Andrews Prep school in Berkshire, Jim Embury. Catherine immediately recognized the man and hugged him, saying:
“My goodness! Oh my goodness, I’ll be right back!”
He then tells me that he can remember exactly what his class was like. When he learned that Jim was moving to Cornwall, he enthusiastically replied, “No!” He then said:
“What you taught me, I now teach my children.”

When this meeting is very sweet with Catherine, she has a new public appearance, where she can be seen snapping selfies and hugs, it seems quite intentional, given time with Meghan and Harry to-all projects. Not to mention the fact that Kensington Palace Her Twitter account clearly included a photo of her hugging Preet. It certainly seems like a subtle way to refute Meghan’s claims!
