As we all know by now, Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir was leaked ahead of its release date, and the excerpts that have been published so far contain some scandalous allegations about the royal family.
Many of the most shocking claims have to do with Harry’s relationship with his older brother, Prince William.
The allegations that have made the most headlines include Harry’s claims that William assaulted him during a tense argument that took place in 2019.
Unsurprisingly, the subject of the argument was Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle.
Harry previously insisted that William disapproved of his relationship with Meghan, but the extent of the elder brother’s disapproval was not seen until this week.
At one point in the book, Harry recalls the first meeting between Meghan and William.’
It seems that he thought it would be well because William is a big fan of Suitlegal drama in which Meghan has a starring role.
However, the evening became awry almost immediately.
According to Harry, Meghan hugged William, and the Prince of Wales responded with disgust.
“[It] completely freaked him out,” Harry wrote in a quote from spare published by Us Weekly.
“He’s withdrawn. Willy doesn’t hug a lot of strangers. Whereas Meg hugs strangers.”
Harry explained in the book that he briefed Meghan on the proper protocol before meeting the Queen, but felt that a more informal demeanor would be allowed when meeting William.
“When I met my grandmother, it was clear to me – this is the queen,” Harry wrote.
“But when I met my brother, only Willy loved me Suit.”
The Duke of Sussex said he was confused by the reaction, as William and his wife Kate Middleton appeared to be thrilled with the idea of Harry dating an actress from one of his favorite shows.
“I was confused, until Willy and Kate explained that they used to – nay, religiously – watch Suits,” Harry recalled.
“Good, I thought, laughing. I was worried about the wrong thing,” he continued.
“Now I thought Willy and Kate wouldn’t welcome Meg into the family, but now I have to worry about her asking for an autograph.”
Unfortunately, it seems that whatever excitement Will and Kate may have had evaporated before their first meeting with Meghan.
And now, insiders say they expect William to cut ties with his brother altogether, in response to Harry’s claims in the memoir.
Obviously, it’s a sad situation.
But we’re sure Harry has some regrets about standing up for his wife and telling the truth.
