Now that Prince Harry is spreading family secrets, the secretive institution is scrambling.
The Duke of Sussex’s memoir, Spare, was released on Tuesday, January 10. But that’s not all.
Harry also gave extensively 60 minutes interview.
He delves into the extreme racism of the British press, about his mother’s death, and how his family has excluded him from his grandmother’s last moments.
As you can see in the 60 Minutes clip below, Prince Harry talks to Anderson Cooper about things his family doesn’t want him to do.
In September last year, Harry was in London for a charity event.
At that time, the world knew that Queen Elizabeth II was under emergency medical supervision.
Harry’s now deceased grandmother is at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
It is one of the properties that the Windsor family continues to own as part of their colossal inherited wealth and is protected by the government.
Speaking to Anderson Cooper, the Duke of Sussex explained his grandmother’s well-being with Prince William.
“I asked my brother, I said, ‘What are your plans? How did you and Kate go up there?’” Harry shared.
“And a few hours later, you know,” he recalls, “all the family members who live in the Windsor and Ascot area jumped on the plane.”
Harry explained: “A plane with 12, 14, maybe 16 seats. … I’m not invited.”
Without his own invitation, Prince Harry had to secure transport and accommodation at the last minute.
He traveled from London to Scotland, arriving at Balmoral Castle after much of his family.
Unfortunately, he arrived too late to say a proper goodbye to his beloved grandmother.
Harry, long believed by royal experts to be Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite grandson, exercise ask to sit with him after he passes.
“I walked down the hall and my aunt was there to greet me,” she said.
“And,” Prince Harry recalled, “he asked me if I wanted to see him.”
“I thought for about five seconds, thinking, ‘Is this a good idea?'” he shared. Many people wonder how they should remember their loved ones.
“And,” Harry continued, “I said, ‘You know, you can do this. You have to say goodbye.'”
He recalled: “So I went upstairs, got my jacket and went in and just spent some time with him.”
“I’m so happy that he’s done with his life. He’s done with life,” Harry said.
“And his wife waited for him, and they were both buried together,” said the late Prince Phillip.
This is a very healthy perspective on loved ones.
In addition, Harry noted that “Britain was pressured to jump” how some members of his family despised Meghan from the beginning.
She is listed as “American, actress, divorced, Black, biracial,” among the reasons for the British press’ “feeding frenzy”. And he was right.
“I went into this incredibly naive,” Prince Harry admitted. “I didn’t know that the British press was so fanatical.” He later added: “I don’t see what I see now.”
