President Akufo-Addo Congratulates Tinubu …Calling To Know Ghana, Nigeria Relations

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on the President-elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deepen the strong friendship that exists between Nigeria and Ghana.

According to him, it is hoped that the president-elect will continue to lead Nigeria’s past leaders.

In a congratulatory message to Tinubu via tweeter on Thursday, March 2, Mr. Akufo-Addo said “On behalf of the people of Ghana and their Government, I congratulate the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu. , on his victory in Nigerian presidential election on Saturday, February 25.

“I hope that the president-elect will continue to lead Nigeria in the past, and deepen the friendship that exists between Nigeria and Ghana, which is based on the agenda of freedom, development, security, shared progress and prosperity.

“Congratulations, once again, to President-elect Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu, and to Nigerians. Welcome and good luck to Nigeria,” President Akufo-Addo said.

According to the official results announced by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes – 36% of the votes counted.

The former Lagos Governor defeated his nearest rivals Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labor Party (LP).

In a speech to the nation on Wednesday, March 1, he said “…No woman, no nation, they do everything they can – creative dance, intelligent discussions, ideological programs.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday morning, believed his successor was “the best man for the job”.

The election is Africa’s biggest democratic exercise. In a region that has experienced backsliding and military coups in recent years, this election demonstrates the continued relevance and ability of democracy to deliver for the people it serves.

“I will now work with him and his team to ensure an orderly handover of power.”
